Hazel breathed easier after the professor spoke to her, and took her seat. After taking out her transfig book, she thumbed through it to find the matchstick-needle page. Blinking, she realized something.
"Uhm, Professor? Not to sound disrespectful, but... Why would we want to change a matchstick into a needle anyway?"

Matchsticks are fairly common. So if you lost or don't have a needle then you may use the matchstick to craft one. Also you may look to my first class in charms to find out how to use one offensivly.

Amp: *sits, glaring at her book* amp: *grumbles* Stupid match. Needle. meedle. amp: *glares at partially transfigured match* amp: *loses temper, having failed AGAIN on her second try* I HATE class! Turning a match to a needle? How stupid is that?! And it's just because my match isn't a match! amp: *points her wand randomly, uses a incantation she saw in a book* amp: *transfigures student in front of her (for that is where her wand was pointing, by accident, of course) into a box of matches* student in front of amp: *becomes box of matches* student beside student in front of amp: *shrieks* amp: *shrugs, goes to get box of matches* amp: *removes match from box, transfigures, successfully, to a needle* FINALLY!

Well you guys seem to like to know where this would come into handy, and since I disagreeignment has been out for awhile I will give the answer. Plus we will learn to effectivly block the answer. If one such as bookworm here were to not figure out how to block in time they would effectivly be destroyed.
*Takes the now completed needle and turns it back into a matchstick and turns it along with the box back into the student*
*Conjures a box of 100 match sticks and turns them all into needles and then engorges them ansd banishes them to bookworm.*

Glances around glassroom and spots a marble statue, transforms it into a shield (still made out of marble) and thows it in front of her. Then she conjures 20 paper weights and banishes it at him.
